About This Yacht

A trawler charter Bodrum week is a different proposition to a gulet week: slower, quieter, and built around a hull that was drawn to cross water rather than sit in a bay. This 20-metre trawler yacht came out of the yard in 2014 and was refitted in 2020, with a deep green displacement hull, twin 450 hp engines and four double cabins for eight guests. Three crew run her. The base is Bodrum, and from there the Gulf of Gokova and the whole run of islands towards Datca open up.

The layout is what sells her. Three deck levels, a full flybridge under a moulded hard top, a covered aft deck that seats eight around a varnished table, and a saloon in warm timber with a galley open to it. Every cabin has an ensuite head and air conditioning. A trawler charter Bodrum booking on this boat is built around exactly this: long easy passages, deep shade on every deck, and a beam of 5.8 metres that keeps her steady when the meltemi fills in after lunch.

Twenty metres, built 2014, refit 2020

She is a true trawler: high bow, long sheer, a low waterline and a hull painted a deep bottle green above the boot top. Twin 450 hp diesels drive her at trawler speeds on very little fuel, and two generators of 11 and 22 kVA carry the air conditioning, the water maker and the ice machine. Above the saloon the flybridge holds an outdoor helm with a teak wheel, a table, a settee and sun pads, and the bathing platform at the stern takes a boarding ladder straight into the water.

A crewed trawler charter Bodrum itinerary

From Bodrum the usual run is east into the Gulf of Gokova, where Orak, Cleopatra Island, Camlik and Karacasogut sit within easy reach of each other. West you have Poyraz, Kargi and the tip of the peninsula, and the Greek islands of Kos and Kalymnos are a short crossing with the right paperwork. A trawler charter Bodrum rewards this coast because the boat is happiest on passage; she will move at breakfast and be anchored somewhere new before the sun is properly up.

Aft deck dining table laid with flowers and crystal

Aquinox arranges boat-in dining along the coast, the waterline tavernas you cannot reach by road, where the tender lands on the jetty and the table is already laid. The Gulf of Gokova has a handful of them and a trawler charter Bodrum strings them together.

Saloon, galley and living space

The saloon is panelled in warm timber with a curved corner settee running most of its length and windows on three sides. The galley opens straight into it, so the crew work in sight rather than below. Aft, sliding doors give onto the covered deck and the bar. Satellite television, a sound system and onboard internet are all aboard. On a trawler charter Bodrum the saloon earns its place on the one grey afternoon of the week and at dinner on the nights that turn breezy.

Four cabins, eight guests

All four cabins take double berths with ensuite heads, air conditioning and hull windows or portlights at eye level from the pillow. The master sits amidships, the guest cabins forward and outboard, and the crew have their own quarters so the guest accommodation is genuinely private. For a trawler charter Bodrum with four couples, or two families splitting the boat, nothing about the layout forces a compromise.

On deck and in the water

There are three places to sit and all of them are shaded: the flybridge under its hard top, the covered aft deck with its oval table, and the main deck dining area under a fixed awning. The bathing platform carries the ladder and the water toys. Fishing tackle, inflatable toys and a canoe come as standard, with a jet ski, paddleboard, wakeboard, water skis, windsurfer and Zodiac available on request. Most of a trawler charter Bodrum week is spent moving between those three decks.
