The occasion page covers the planning. This is the route: which coves, which nights, and how to have them to yourselves.

Empty anchorages are a timing problem, not a luck problem. Day boats and charter fleets run a predictable pattern on this coast: out of port around 10:00, into the popular bays between 11:00 and 16:00, back or settled by 18:00.
Work against it and the week changes completely. Swim at 08:00 in the bay everyone else will be in at noon. Move at 15:00 while they are still anchored. Be in the overnight cove by 17:00, before the fleet. Eat at 21:30.
It costs nothing and it is the single thing that separates a good private charter from a crowded one.
Marmaris to Datca via Bozburun, 7 nights, around 90 miles.
Night 1. Bozburun. A working gulet-building town rather than a resort, and the right place to start because it sets the register. Quiet by 22:00.
Night 2. Serce Limani. A near-enclosed natural harbour with a narrow entrance, almost no development and good holding. One of the few anchorages on this coast where you can reliably be alone in July.
Night 3. Datca, or the bays just east of it. The town is small and unglamorous and has one of the better evening walks on the coast.
Night 4. Palamutbuku, on the peninsula's southern shore. Open, clear, exposed to southerlies, and worth checking the forecast for.
Night 5. Knidos. Anchor on the point, in the ancient harbour, with the theatre above you. It gets day boats until about 17:00 and then it empties and you have one of the great anchorages of the Mediterranean to yourselves.
Night 6. Back east through the southern bays.
Night 7. Hisaronu or Selimiye, and in to Marmaris the next morning.

Gocek is beautiful and it is busy. It is also now a buoy-booking system with check-in and check-out times, a 3-night maximum per bay and an 11-night seasonal cap across the gulf. That is manageable but it is not spontaneous, and spontaneity is most of what this week is for.
The Datca and Bozburun peninsulas sit outside that regime, have fewer berths feeding the bays, and empty out after the second week of September. For 2 people wanting an anchorage to themselves, it is the better answer.
Dinner served on the aft deck rather than in the cockpit, and the crew forward after it.
No tender runs after dark unless you ask.
A tender that is actually quiet, because a 2-stroke outboard at 07:00 undoes the whole week.
Breakfast at the hour you wake rather than a set time. Say this on day 1.
Late May, June, and the second half of September through October. The water holds above 24°C into October and the coast is empty. See the romantic charter occasion page for the yacht sizing and the crew conversation.
Outside the peak 4 weeks, most nights, if you move early and eat late. Serce Limani and the Knidos anchorage after 17:00 are the most reliable.
It is busier, and since 2026 the bays run on a booked mooring-buoy system with fixed check-in times and a 3-night cap per bay. Workable, but it removes the spontaneity.
5 nights covers the peninsula. 7 does it without rushing. Below 5 you spend the week moving.
Palamutbuku and the southern shore are open to southerlies. The captain will reverse the route if the forecast says to, and that is routine.
