Daily and weekly motor yacht rental prices for 2026, popular brands, the best regions and how booking works.

Motor Yacht Rental in Turkey: Prices, Models and Regional Guide (2026)

For anyone planning a fast-paced holiday, renting a motor yacht is a more practical alternative to sailing boats and gulets. For guests who want to see more bays in less time, cruise at higher speed and enjoy a generally more comfortable interior, motor yachts have become the most requested boat category on Turkey’s southwest coast in recent years. In this guide we look in detail at motor yacht rental prices, boat types, what each region offers and what to watch out for when booking. Whether you are planning a single day at sea or weighing up a full week, it brings together all the practical information you need, from budgeting to choosing the right region.

What is a motor yacht, and how does it differ from a gulet or catamaran?

A motor yacht is a boat with no sailing rig that cruises entirely under engine power. Compared with gulets and catamarans, motor yachts usually have a higher cruising speed, which lets them cover more routes and bays on a short holiday. Gulets, with their wooden hulls and traditional design, offer a calmer, more romantic atmosphere, while catamarans have larger decks and less rolling thanks to their twin hulls. Motor yachts are the first choice for guests who want speed, modern design and luxury equipment.

That is why renting a motor yacht is ideal for day trips, weekend escapes, or guests with limited time who want to see several places. Motor yachts are also a popular choice for family gatherings, birthday celebrations, post-meeting cocktail events, marriage proposals and VIP transfers. For technical specifications, model comparisons and more photos, see our motor yacht charter guide; this article focuses on the rental process, how pricing works and choosing a region.

How much does it cost to rent a motor yacht? (2026)

Motor yacht rental prices vary over a wide range depending on the boat’s length, age, number of cabins, crew and rental period. The figures below reflect typical market ranges observed for the 2026 season; the exact price is always confirmed at the quotation stage based on the model and dates. They are general ranges based on observations of regional fleets rather than an invented average, so we always recommend asking for a direct quote for current, exact prices.

Daily motor yacht rental prices

  • 12–15 metres, crewed day trip: roughly USD 800–1,600 per day (excluding fuel, varies by region)
  • 16–20 metres, luxury motor yacht: roughly USD 1,800–3,500 per day
  • 20 metres+, flybridge/luxury class: roughly USD 4,000+ per day

Weekly motor yacht charter packages

  • 14–17 metre class: roughly €8,000–16,000 per week
  • 18–24 metre class: roughly €18,000–45,000 per week
  • 25 metre+ superyacht class: from €50,000, rising steeply with the size of the yacht

Weekly charters usually include the crew (captain, cook, staff), fuel up to a certain limit and part of the harbour costs; an additional budget known as the APA (Advance Provisioning Allowance) is requested separately for fuel, food and drink and harbour fees. The APA is usually planned at around 25–30% of the total charter fee, and any unused amount is refunded to the guest at the end of the charter.

The main factors that drive the price

The main factors are the yacht’s build year and level of equipment, the number of cabins/berths, the size of the crew, the season (July–August is high season; May–June and September–October are better-value shoulder months), the length of the charter (the longer the charter, the lower the cost per day) and the distance between the departure and arrival ports. Special requests (water sports equipment, a chef’s menu, live music, flowers, a photographer and so on) also affect the total budget. Water toys such as jet skis, Seabobs and inflatables are usually offered at a separate daily rate.

The most common motor yacht brands in Turkish charter fleets include Azimut, Sunseeker, Ferretti, Fairline, Princess and Numarine. Their 12–20 metre models, with large sunbathing areas, flybridge seating and modern interiors, are among the most popular choices in the charter market. Above 20 metres, in the superyacht class, you find models with a jacuzzi on the upper deck, a water toy garage and more cabins. The choice of brand and model is usually shaped by budget, group size and accommodation needs; each brand offers its own style of comfort and design.

What’s on board? Comfort and water sports

Most modern motor yachts are equipped with air conditioning, a large swim platform, an outdoor kitchen/barbecue area and, on some models, a jacuzzi. For water sports fans, inflatables, water-skis, tubes, kayaks and, on some boats, jet skis or Seabobs can be added on request. Snorkelling sets and a swim ladder are usually standard, while more extensive water sports equipment is offered at a separate daily rate. For families with children, the range of life jacket sizes and whether the safety equipment suits each age group are important questions to ask before booking.

Motor yachts for corporate events and special occasions

Motor yachts are used not only for holidays but also for corporate launches, business dinners, marriage proposals, birthday parties and small weddings. The large saloon and sun deck provide a good setting for menus served in coordination with caterers, and extras such as a sound system, decorations and flowers can be arranged on request. Corporate groups usually choose short 2–3-hour cocktail cruises or half-day programmes, while for private celebrations it is popular to time the programme around sunset.

Documents and insurance

On a crewed motor yacht charter, guests don’t need any special boating qualifications; only ID/passport details are required for harbour records. For a bareboat charter you need an internationally recognised boat licence (ICC or equivalent). Hull and liability insurance for the yacht is provided as standard; guests are advised to check their own travel insurance as well, especially if they plan to take part in water sports.

What to consider when choosing a motor yacht

Size and capacity

Choosing a boat that suits your group size is critical for comfort. A 15-metre motor yacht is usually enough for a family of 6–8, while groups of 10–12 friends or corporate events will be more comfortable on 18 metres or more. It is important to check the deck plan before booking for details such as sunbathing space, saloon size, whether there is a jacuzzi and the number of cabins.

Crewed or bareboat?

Most motor yachts chartered commercially in Turkey are rented with a captain; that brings both safety and the advantage of travelling with a crew who knows the area. Bareboat rental is available on some smaller boats for guests with a suitable licence (international certificate), but on luxury and mid-to-large motor yachts the standard is a crewed charter. The crew usually consists of a captain, a cook and at least one deckhand; on larger yachts a stewardess and a second captain may be added.

Crew and service quality

An experienced crew directly affects the quality of your holiday, from route planning to the menu. Before booking, it helps to ask about the crew’s language skills (especially English), past references and reviews of the boat. If you have dietary restrictions, allergies or special menu requests, pass these on when you book so the crew can prepare. For international groups, fluent English is usually the top priority.

The best regions for motor yacht rental

Turkey’s southwest coastline is divided into several main areas, each with different advantages for motor yacht charters.

Göcek and Fethiye

With its wind-sheltered bays and marina infrastructure, Göcek is one of the areas with the highest demand for motor yachts. On day trips you can quickly reach spots such as Tersane Island, Cleopatra’s Bay and Bedri Rahmi Bay. For detailed route ideas, see our Göcek route guide.

Bodrum

Bodrum is another major hub with high demand for both daily and weekly rentals, known for its lively marina scene and restaurants. Short crossings to the Greek islands are also possible from Bodrum. For more on the area, see our Bodrum routes page.

Marmaris

Marmaris offers flexible routes thanks to its proximity to both the Göcek–Fethiye bays and the Datça peninsula. With large marina capacity and a broad charter fleet, it is easy to find boats to suit different budgets.

Antalya

Antalya is popular both for day trips combined with a city holiday and for weekly programmes heading towards Kaş and Kekova. It is a practical departure point especially for guests staying in a hotel who want to add a day at sea.

Routes and sample programmes

A motor yacht’s high cruising speed makes it possible to see several bays in a short time. On a day trip from Göcek, for example, you can visit 4–5 different bays and islands, whereas a gulet would cover the same distance at half the speed. For programmes of a few days, the Göcek–Fethiye–Kalkan–Kaş stretch or the Bodrum–Datça–Knidos route are popular choices. If you want a longer, multi-day programme, you will find detailed examples in our blue voyage guide.

A day trip usually starts between 10:00 and 10:30, lunch is served at anchor in a bay, there are one or two more swim and sunbathing stops in the afternoon, and you are back in port between 18:00 and 19:00. On weekly programmes you anchor in a different bay or town every day, and nights are usually spent in quiet bays. In May and June, when the sea is still warming up, a gentler pace is preferred; in July–August, setting off early in the morning and anchoring in shaded bays at midday is more comfortable in the heat. September and October are often recommended by experienced guests, as the sea is still warm and the crowds have thinned.

Day trip or weekly charter?

For guests short on time or keeping to a tighter budget, a day trip is the more practical format: these programmes run from morning to evening and give you a day at sea without accommodation costs. A weekly charter includes sleeping on board, exploring a different bay or town every day and a more complete crew service; the cost per day is usually lower than a day trip because fixed costs (crew, harbour fees) are spread over the rental period. If you are planning a short break, a mini programme of 2–3 days offers a balanced middle ground between a day trip and a weekly charter, and is especially popular over long weekends.

How does booking work?

The first step is to confirm the group size, dates and departure port. Based on this information we prepare 2–3 boat proposals to fit your budget; once you have chosen, the contract and deposit process begins. For popular boats in high season (July–August), we recommend booking at least 4–6 weeks in advance; for special dates such as public holidays and long weekends, even earlier. Once the contract is signed, the handover day, time and port are confirmed, and a short briefing call with the crew before handover is common practice.

Frequently asked questions

What is included in the price of a motor yacht rental?

The standard package usually includes the crew, the yacht’s own insurance and basic harbour costs. Fuel, food and drink and extra harbour/marina fees are mostly calculated as a separate budget (APA); it is important to clarify this before booking.

In which months can I find the best prices?

May, June and September–October are considered shoulder season, and prices in these months are usually 20–40% lower than in high season (July–August).

How many people can a motor yacht take?

It depends on the length, but 12–15 metre motor yachts comfortably take 8–10 people on day trips, while yachts of 18 metres and above can take 12–15. On weekly charters with overnight stays, the number of cabins is the main factor that determines capacity.

Is the captain’s fee paid separately?

Most packages are quoted with a captain, and the captain/crew fee is usually included in the total charter price. A tip is traditionally left separately but is not compulsory.

Can we cross to the Greek islands by motor yacht?

From departure points such as Bodrum, Marmaris, Datça and Kaş, day or multi-day crossings to the Greek islands can be organised with the right documents. Customs and harbour procedures need to be planned in advance. See our guide to a Greek islands boat trip from Turkey for details.

How much is the deposit?

The standard practice is a deposit of 30–50% of the total charter fee; the balance is usually paid before the handover date.

What happens in bad weather?

The captain has the authority to change the route with safety as the priority. In the event of strong wind or a storm warning, the programme is redirected to more sheltered bays, or date change/cancellation terms apply as set out in the contract.

Is renting a motor yacht more expensive than a gulet?

As a general trend, a motor yacht of similar size may need a somewhat higher budget than a gulet because of the cost of high-performance engines and equipment. But the difference depends on the brand, age and level of equipment; some mid-range motor yachts are in a similar price range to upper-segment gulets.
