Catamaran Rental in Turkey: Prices, Models and Booking Guide (2026)

One of the most comfortable ways to spend a week on the Turkish coast is to step aboard a rental catamaran, with its wide decks and twin-hull stability. Little rolling, a spacious saloon and usually 3–6 cabins make catamarans a strong alternative to classic gulets and motor yachts for families, groups of friends, honeymooners and guests prone to seasickness. In recent years the number of new catamarans joining the fleets in Göcek, Bodrum and Marmaris has grown so quickly that this has become one of the fastest-growing segments of the Turkish charter market.

In this guide we bring together catamaran rental prices for the 2026 season, popular models, crewed and bareboat options, route ideas by region and everything to check before you book. The goal is to put all the practical information you need to choose the right boat and the right package in one place.

What is a catamaran, and why rent one?

Unlike a single-hull (monohull) boat, a catamaran is built on two parallel hulls. That means far less rolling at sea, a large saloon and cockpit, and a swim platform just 60–90 cm above the water. Two engines also improve manoeuvrability, so entering narrow marinas or anchoring in windy bays is easier than on a monohull.

The main reasons to rent a catamaran are:

  • Stability: The twin-hull design keeps comfort high even in choppy conditions — a big advantage for guests prone to seasickness.
  • Generous living space: Noticeably more saloon, cockpit and sunbathing space than a motor yacht or gulet of the same length.
  • Shallow draft: A low draft lets you anchor closer to bays and beaches.
  • Ideal for groups: With 4–6 cabins it suits larger family or friend groups, and the cost per person is usually lower than on a motor yacht.
  • Indoor–outdoor balance: The flybridge, the trampoline net on the foredeck and the aft cockpit give you different places to sit and lounge, with different views and breeze throughout the day.

Catamaran rental prices for 2026

Prices vary considerably with the length of the catamaran, the model year, whether a captain and crew are included and the season. As a general guide, weekly rates look like this:

  • 40–42 ft catamaran (3–4 cabins): €4,500–7,500 per week
  • 44–46 ft catamaran (4 cabins): €6,500–10,000 per week
  • 50–52 ft catamaran (5 cabins): €9,000–15,000 per week
  • 55 ft+ luxury catamaran (5–6 cabins, crewed): €15,000 and above per week

In the July–August high season prices can rise by 30–50%, while better-value packages are available in the shoulder months of May–June and September–October. Fuel, harbour fees and final cleaning are usually not included, so it is important to have these items clearly stated before booking. Most companies also ask for a refundable security deposit when the contract is signed; it depends on the size of the boat but is usually between €1,500 and €4,000.

Items you can usually expect to be included are the boat, the captain’s fee, insurance, daily cleaning and bed linen. Items that are not included and should be budgeted separately are fuel and water consumption, harbour/marina fees, alcoholic drinks and tips.

A tip for anyone watching for last-minute deals: some fleet owners offer 10–20% discounts 2–3 weeks before departure to fill empty dates. But because those deals limit your choice of model and dates, booking early is always the safer way to secure a particular boat or week.

These are the catamaran brands and models you will see most often in Turkish charter fleets:

Lagoon

The French builder Lagoon is the most popular brand in the charter market, thanks to its large cockpit design and high comfort standards. The Lagoon 42, 46 and 52 are usually rented fully equipped, with air conditioning, a generator and a watermaker. The large glass door between the saloon and cockpit connects inside and outside, creating an open space for group activities.

Bali

The Bali range, with its large aft-opening saloon door and flybridge options, is particularly popular for group trips. The Bali 4.2 and 4.6 are common in the Fethiye and Göcek fleets and stand out for their large sunbathing areas.

Fountaine Pajot

Known for sportier lines and fuel efficiency, this brand is a good choice for charterers looking for performance on long routes and windy days. Its aerodynamic design means lower fuel consumption on routes where the sails do part of the work.

Nautitech and other brands

Nautitech is one of the less well-known brands with a high-quality fleet; its twin-cockpit design, which clearly separates crew and guest areas, is a big reason people choose it.

Equipment and comfort on board

A modern charter catamaran comes with a range of equipment that directly affects the comfort of your holiday. It is worth confirming this list with the company before you book:

  • Power system: Generator capacity and daily running hours determine whether air conditioning and the watermaker can run without interruption.
  • Watermaker: Lets you meet fresh water needs on long routes without waiting for a harbour.
  • Entertainment and comfort: A Bluetooth sound system, outdoor cinema equipment and Starlink/satellite internet are now standard in many fleets.
  • Water sports equipment: Paddleboards, snorkelling sets, sea kayaks and, in some fleets, inflatable water toys may be available.

Provisioning and catering

Food on a catamaran charter is usually organised in one of two ways: guests do their own shopping and hand it over to the crew (“self-provisioning”), or a chef/host recommended by the company plans a full-board menu. When dietary restrictions, allergies and special-occasion menus (a birthday cake, a celebration dinner) are mentioned at booking, the crew can handle them smoothly.

Crewed or bareboat?

Under Turkey’s commercial charter rules, most catamarans are rented with a professional captain, even if you hold a licence. The main reasons:

  • A captain who knows the area helps you find bays and anchorages safely.
  • Harbour procedures, route changes for the weather and emergency management are the captain’s responsibility.
  • Adding a cook/host turns it into an all-inclusive holiday, so guests don’t have to deal with meal planning and shopping.

A limited number of bareboat catamarans are available for experienced charterers with a sailing licence, but usually on smaller boats, with a reference check and an extra deposit. For a bareboat charter you need to share your sailing experience and certificates (for example the ICC – International Certificate of Competence) with the company in advance.

Where can you go by catamaran?

The route and experience differ by region:

  • Göcek and Fethiye: Calm bays, enclosed gulfs and small waves — the area where a catamaran’s stability is felt most.
  • Bodrum: Combines a lively marina scene with quiet bays, with routes close to the nightlife.
  • Marmaris: Flexible routes covering both the Turkish coast and short crossings to the Greek islands (Rhodes, Symi).

For more detail on routes and weekly programme examples, see our regional guides, such as the Göcek blue cruise guide.

Catamaran vs gulet vs motor yacht

Choosing the right type of boat sets the character of your holiday:

  • Catamaran: Generous living space, little rolling and shared comfort for groups. Especially good for larger groups who still want privacy.
  • Gulet: Wooden-boat aesthetics, the traditional blue cruise atmosphere and usually more economical package prices.
  • Motor yacht: Higher speed, time saved on short routes and a more luxurious, modern interior.

For motor yacht options and current prices, see our motor yacht charter guide. For the overall logic of catamaran chartering and regional comparisons, our main catamaran charter guide goes into more depth.

Which groups and occasions is it suited to?

Thanks to their wide, level living space, catamarans are a very flexible choice for family reunions, groups of friends, corporate team events and honeymoons. A 4–5-cabin catamaran with an ensuite bathroom for every cabin is ideal for groups who value privacy. For special occasions such as birthdays, hen and stag parties or anniversaries, the crew can also arrange extras such as deck decorations and a cake.

What to check when renting a catamaran

  • Contract details: Make sure it is clear whether fuel, harbour fees and final cleaning (APA/final cleaning) are included.
  • Deposit and insurance: Find out the standard deposit, the refund conditions and the boat’s insurance cover in advance.
  • Cabin and bed layout: Choose the right number of cabins (3, 4 or 5) and bed configuration (double/bunk) for your group.
  • Model year and condition: The age of the fleet and its maintenance records directly affect comfort; ask for photos of the boat and the date of the last service if possible.
  • Equipment list: Ask in advance about water sports gear (snorkel, SUP, kayak), air conditioning capacity and generator hours.
  • Timing: For high season (July–August) we recommend booking at least 2–3 months ahead.

Day catamaran rental

If you don’t want to commit to a full week, full-day and half-day catamaran trips are also available in Bodrum, Göcek and Marmaris. This is ideal for short holidays, corporate events or anyone who simply wants a private day at sea. Day rentals usually include the captain, fuel (up to a certain distance) and basic refreshments; lunch and drinks may be priced separately depending on the package. An 8-hour day rental typically costs between €800 and €2,500 depending on the size of the boat and the group. For birthday celebrations, marriage proposals or company events, a day on a catamaran offers a similar experience for a much smaller budget than a week-long trip.

Insurance, safety and liability

In charter contracts, hull insurance and third-party liability insurance are provided by the company as standard. As the charterer, what you need to understand is the deductible in the contract and the damage limit covered by the deposit. It is also worth checking whether your personal travel insurance covers water activities (diving, water-skiing and so on). By law, every catamaran must carry life jackets, a fire extinguisher, flares and a first aid kit; at check-in your captain should show guests where these are and how to use them.

Sustainable, responsible catamaran charter

With their large deck area, catamarans are better suited to solar panels than motor yachts, which reduces generator use and lowers fuel consumption. To protect the marine ecosystem in the bays during your holiday, we recommend using refillable water bottles instead of single-use plastic, avoiding Posidonia seagrass meadows when anchoring and leaving waste only at harbour facilities. Like many charter companies, Aquinox Yachting plans its routes with respect for protected marine areas.

Frequently asked questions

What affects catamaran rental prices?

The main factors are the length of the boat, the model year, the number of cabins, the season (high or shoulder) and whether a captain and crew are included.

How many people can stay on a catamaran?

40–46 ft catamarans usually sleep 8–10 people, while models of 50 ft and above sleep up to 10–12.

Is a catamaran or a gulet more comfortable?

Comfort is a personal matter, but in terms of less rolling and more living space, a catamaran has the edge — especially for guests prone to seasickness.

Is a captain required to rent a catamaran?

For commercial charter boats in Turkey, the general rule is to charter with a professional captain. A limited number of bareboat options may be available to experienced charterers with a valid sailing licence.

What is the best season to rent a catamaran?

May–June and September–October offer better prices and quieter bays. July–August is the period of highest demand and prices.

How far in advance should I book?

Especially for high season, we recommend booking 2–3 months in advance to secure the model and dates you want.

Can we cross to the Greek islands by catamaran?

On catamaran charters from Marmaris and Bodrum, day or multi-day crossings to nearby Greek islands such as Rhodes, Symi or Kos can be organised once the customs and harbour formalities are completed.

Is it possible to rent a catamaran for just one day?

Yes. As well as weekly charters, full-day and half-day catamaran trips are available in Bodrum, Göcek and Marmaris — a practical option for short events and private celebrations.

Once you have clarified your budget, group size and preferred route, contact the Aquinox Yachting team for a tailored quote. When the right model is matched with the right route, a catamaran holiday becomes one of the most practical ways to enjoy both comfort and the freedom of the sea.
