About This Yacht

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza week puts 16 metres of wide-beam catamaran between Ibiza, Formentera and Mallorca, with 5 double cabins for 10 guests and a crew. The yacht works out of Ibiza Port and Andratx and can also pick up at Palma.

What a Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza gives you

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza is the model that made the Bali layout make sense at this size. The hull is 16.02 metres on an 8.16 metre beam, the draft is 1.40 metres and the light displacement is about 19 tonnes. That draft is the number to care about in the Balearics, because it lets the yacht lie inside the sand shelf at Illetes rather than out in the channel.

Instead of trampolines the foredeck is solid, with a second cockpit set into it, and the saloon bulkhead lifts away so the inside and the forward deck run together. Upwind sail area is 94 square metres with the Code 0, the jib adds 70, and the engines are twin diesels from 57 hp up. Fuel and water are 1,200 litres each.

Accommodation

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza sleeps 10 in 5 double cabins, each with its own heads and shower, air conditioning throughout. The crew have their own quarters and access, so the guest side stays private.

The saloon and galley are both on the main deck with glazing all round, which keeps the cooking out of the hulls and the heat. Dining is set inside and in the aft cockpit, both for 10.

Deck spaces

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza has three separate outdoor areas and a flybridge. The aft cockpit is the shaded one and sits directly off the saloon. The forward cockpit catches the breeze and is where breakfast tends to happen. The flybridge carries the helm, a sunpad and seating.

The transom steps down to a platform between the hulls, where the tender and the toys live. On a Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza the day runs around it: swim, lunch in the cockpit, move one bay along, swim again.

Where she cruises

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza normally starts from Ibiza Port and runs south to Formentera for Illetes and Espalmador, then back up the west coast for Cala Comte, Cala Salada and the sunset off Es Vedra. The crossing to Formentera takes under two hours, so the week never turns into a delivery trip.

From Ibiza the yacht can also cross to Mallorca and work the coast between Andratx and Palma, or carry on round to Soller if the forecast suits. Boat-in only restaurants on Formentera are a short tender run from the anchorage and the crew book them before you arrive.

Equipment

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza carries a tender with outboard, stand-up paddleboards, snorkelling gear and inflatables, with full air conditioning, a water maker, an ice maker, onboard internet and an audio system through the saloon and both cockpits.

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza sails properly on a reach, which is what the afternoon breeze gives you most days, and the crew will set the Code 0 for the Formentera crossing rather than motoring it.

Terms and season

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza runs on MYBA terms. The weekly fee covers hire, insurance, crew wages and food, and laundry. Fuel, berthing, provisioning, drinks and local taxes are billed through an advance provisioning allowance of roughly 25 to 30 per cent. Spanish VAT is additional and gratuities are at the charterer’s discretion.

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza runs from May to the end of September. July and August are the busiest and the most expensive; June and September give the same water at a noticeably lower weekly rate.

Aquinox Yachting holds dates and quotes the full cost including APA and transfers. In the same waters we also carry the Bali 4.6 charter in Ibiza at a lower entry point and the Alegria 67 charter in Ibiza for larger groups. Model specifications are published by Bali Catamarans.

A Bali 5.2 charter Ibiza suits a group of up to 10 that wants five private double cabins, two cockpits and a flybridge without moving into superyacht money. Enquire for availability, a firm quote including APA, and a draft route.
