Bu Yat Hakkında

A gulet charter Rhodes offers is not the same holiday as a Turkish one. The boats are similar, the coastline is not: from Rhodes the Dodecanese opens north in a chain of islands, each an hour or two apart, each with a harbour worth walking. This 22.76-metre Orion gulet is based there year-round, with four en-suite cabins for eight guests and a crew of three.

Why Base a Gulet Charter in Rhodes

A gulet charter Rhodes under full sail in the Dodecanese.

Most Turkish gulets cross to Greece for a day and come back. This one lives there. She is Polish-flagged and based at Rhodes, which removes the transit-log question entirely and means a gulet charter Rhodes guests book runs on Greek time from the first morning rather than losing half a day to formalities at a border.

What that opens is the Dodecanese proper. Symi is two hours north. Halki lies west, Tilos and Nisyros beyond, Kos further on again, and Kastellorizo sits far east against the Turkish coast for anyone with a fortnight. None of these are day-trip islands from a hotel; they are the reason to take a gulet charter Rhodes rather than book a room ashore.

She was built by Orion Shipyard in 2008 and refitted in 2023. Mahogany throughout, a green hull, two masts, and an opening sunroof over the saloon that on a still evening turns the whole interior into a deck space. Twenty-two metres is a manageable size for a gulet charter Rhodes itinerary — small enough for the tight harbours at Symi and Halki, large enough that eight people are not living on top of each other.

Four En-Suite Cabins, Eight Guests

Two masters and two doubles. The aft master takes the stern, the forward master sits in the bow, and the two doubles lie port and starboard between them. Every cabin has its own shower and heads, air conditioning, satellite television, a DVD player, a minibar and a hair dryer.

Two full masters in a boat of this length is the configuration that makes a gulet charter Rhodes work for two couples travelling as equals rather than one couple and their guests. The four-cabin layout also suits a family of eight without anyone drawing the short cabin.

The saloon is mahogany with cream upholstery and that opening roof. There is a lounge, an interior dining table, wifi, Bluetooth speakers and a shelf of board games for the afternoon when the Meltemi is up and nobody wants to move. It is a warm interior rather than a bright one, which suits the boat and the islands she works.

Three Crew, and the Cooking

Three crew for eight guests: a captain and two who cover deck and galley between them. The cooking is done aboard from what is bought ashore, and in the Dodecanese that means something specific — Symi shrimp, Kalymnos octopus, Rhodian olive oil and the local sheep cheeses, rather than a menu written in advance.

Breakfast is Greek and unhurried: yoghurt with thyme honey, tomatoes, olives, feta, bread from a bakery in whichever harbour you woke up in. Lunch is a table of small dishes eaten at anchor with the ladder down. Dinner is either aboard or ashore, and on a well-planned gulet charter Rhodes week it is roughly half and half.

Dietary requirements need to be given at the time of booking. Provisioning happens before departure, and the smaller Dodecanese islands have one shop and no guarantee of anything specific. Vegetarian and pescatarian menus are straightforward; anything stricter needs notice before a gulet charter Rhodes leaves the quay.

Boat-In Only: Eating in the Dodecanese

The best tables in these islands are not in the towns. Nimborio, on the western shore of Symi bay, is a row of tavernas with their tables on the shingle and no road worth the name. Pedi, on the other side, is the same. At Panormitis the monastery has a harbour and a kitchen and very little else.

Further out, Alimia is an uninhabited island with a ruined village, a sheltered bay and nothing to eat at all — which is its own argument for having a cook aboard. Halki has three tavernas on the quay at Emborio and a fish catch landed in front of them. A gulet charter Rhodes itinerary should mix the two: nights at a taverna quay and nights at anchor with nobody else in the bay.

There is a bar aboard, an ice maker and a cellar worth stocking with Rhodian and Cretan wine — Athiri from the island itself, Assyrtiko from further west, and the Nemea reds for anything from the grill.

Where a Gulet Charter Rhodes Cruises

Rhodes has an international airport with direct flights across Europe through the season, which is half the reason a gulet charter Rhodes is easier to organise than a Turkish equivalent. The medieval old town is worth a night before boarding rather than a taxi straight to the quay.

The standard week runs north: Rhodes to Symi, Panormitis, then Halki, Tilos and Nisyros with its volcanic crater, returning through Symi. A slower week stays with Symi and Halki and spends the saved hours at anchor. The long route continues to Kos, Kalymnos and Leros, ending with a one-way transfer, which is arranged on request.

Eastward, Kastellorizo sits alone against the Turkish coast and is the most memorable harbour in the Dodecanese for anyone with the days to reach it. Aquinox also runs Turkish-based boats from Bodrum Ve Gocek if you would rather start on that side.

Tender, Toys and Specification

A 4.20-metre tender with a 70-horsepower outboard handles shore runs and towing. Two canoes, two paddleboards, adult and child water skis, a wakeboard, a mono ski, two ringos, snorkelling equipment and fishing tackle are aboard. Fuel for the motorised sports is charged as used, and the crew will rig the towing gear on request rather than by default.

Length overall 22.76 metres, beam 6.05 metres, draught 2.74 metres, wooden hull and teak decks. A single Volvo Penta of 425 horsepower gives nine knots cruising and eleven maximum at roughly 40 litres an hour, which is economical for a boat of this displacement and keeps the fuel line on a Greek invoice modest. Generators are an Onan of 17.5 kW and an Albo Marine of 14 kW. Air conditioning runs throughout, and navigation and safety equipment is to full commercial survey.

Rates, Terms and Availability

Low season begins at EUR 2,000 per day and high season at EUR 2,850 per day, quoted for the whole yacht with her crew of three rather than per person. That works out at EUR 14,000 to EUR 19,950 for a seven-night gulet charter Rhodes week depending on the month.

Greek-based charters are quoted excluding VAT, fuel, marina fees and crew gratuities, and a gulet charter Rhodes is no exception. Aquinox sets out the full inclusions and the applicable VAT in writing before any deposit is taken, so there is no surprise on the final invoice.

A gulet charter Rhodes in July or August is usually committed by late winter. May, June, September and October are easier to secure and are the better months in the Dodecanese — the Meltemi is less insistent and the harbours at Symi and Halki are not full. Send your dates and guest numbers to Aquinox Yatçılık for a written quotation, a provisional hold and the full inclusions list the same working day.

How many guests does this gulet charter Rhodes take?

Is VAT included in the rate?

No. Greek-based charters are quoted excluding VAT, fuel, marina fees and crew gratuities. Aquinox sets out the applicable VAT in writing before any deposit is taken.

Which islands can we reach in a week?

Symi is two hours from Rhodes, with Halki, Tilos and Nisyros beyond. A longer charter continues to Kos, Kalymnos and Leros, or east to Kastellorizo.

When is the best time for a gulet charter Rhodes?

May, June, September and October combine warm water with quieter harbours and a gentler Meltemi. July and August are usually committed by late winter.
